Frequently Asked Questions   Q:  Do you rent boats? R:  Yes, we have a fleet of Duffy 21 foot Cruisers that hold up to 12 people of average size comfortably.   Q:  What are your rates? R:  We charge $89.00 per hour with a 2-hour minimum.   Q:  Can you make reservations? R:  Yes, you can make reservations via phone or email.  A 24-hour cancellation policy in consideration of other customers.   Q:  Do you take us out for a tour? R:  Yes, tours can be arranged in advance or the renter operates the boat as a ‘bare boat’ charter.  The Duffy 21’ Cruiser is extremely easy to maneuver and dock.  They are like driving a golf cart.  They operate up to 7 mph, which is the posted speed limit on Lake Union.  A brief check out and explanation of the controls is all that is needed.  A map of the lake is provided with points of interest.   Q:  How old do you have to be? R:  You must be 25 years or older to rent from The Electric Boat Company.  A driver’s license/passport will be taken and kept in the office until return of the vessel.  You must be willing to sign and initial all required waivers and acceptances.  A credit card imprint is taken in the event the boat is damaged.  A cell phone is required to communicate in the event of an emergency.   Q:  Do you take checks? R:  No, Cash and all major credit cards are accepted.   Q:  Do I need a reservation? R:  Highly recommended.  Depending on availability, walk-ins are accepted.   Q:  What are your hours of operation? R:  We are open 10:00am to 10:00pm, 7 days a week with the last boat leaving the dock no later than 8:00pm.   Q:  Can I rent for half-day and/or full day? R:  Yes, subject to availability, the half-day rental (4 hours) is $330 and the full day rental (8 hours) is $630.   Q:  Can I bring food and beverage? R:  Yes, we have snack items, non-alcoholic drinks, and ice available at our shop to take along.  You can also bring your own.  We can also arrange for delivery of various items from local restaurants.  In addition, there are a number of restaurants that are accessible from the water and are easy to tie up at.  The ‘Cleats & Eats’ book, detailing these restaurants, is available at the shop for purchase.  The boats are set up with two tables and drink holders.  Coolers are available for rent or purchase.  Special catered events can be arranged through our event planner with advance notice.   Q:  What about rain? R:  The Duffy 21’ Cruisers can be fully enclosed and are equipped with heaters.  Rain is not a factor!    Q:  Are children allowed? R:  Of course, children absolutely love these boats and child life vests are available.   Q:  Are there bathrooms on board?
